"Half-Tree 2.0" Black Walnut Dining Table

This is a 2.0 version of “Half-Tree” with a few improvements. What do you think? Are they improvements? While thinner in the top profile and leg profile, this monster of a table is still made of so much wood that it just had to be named “Half-Tree” again… It also weighs as much as the original too…

Notice that the “hybrid” live edge is done more successfully in this new version. With the corners cut squared and the entire length of the table edges lightly trimmed, this table showcases a rectangular shape while maintaining its’ live edge at the same time. I have grown to love the look of this hybrid design and will definitely continue to feature it in more tables.

The black walnut top on this 2.0 version is made with two instead of three slabs, finishing at 2-3/8” thick. The trapezoidal legs are smaller at 4-1/8” thick - solid walnut as well. I think these proportion changes are improvements on the original.

The table was set roomy for four guests, but you could easily squeeze in up to 10 using the ends.

Each piece is finished with a protective oil and hardwax blend for a beautiful and warm matte finish. Finish will not water-spot.
