"Gold Coast" White Oak Dining Table & Bench

A semi-modern take on tradition, “Gold Coast” marks yet another new design for Big Tooth Co. Made with white oak and just a touch of black walnut, this dining table and its’ matching bench were designed to incorporate a plethora of traditional and tasteful wood joinery techniques. The dovetailing and pegged through mortise and tenon joints made these pieces possible with only wood and just a couple drops of wood glue - no nuts, bolts, screws, or threaded inserts needed - like the olden days.
The two book-matched white oak slabs that make the tabletop and the third bench top slab are a finished thickness of 1-5/8”. Notice the touches of quarter sawn beauty on the table.
The trestle base is almost entirely white oak, except I enhanced the design with contrasting black walnut in the through-mortise and tenon pegs.
The table was set roomy for four guests, but you could easily squeeze in up to eight, especially using the ends.
Each piece is finished with a protective oil and hardwax blend for a beautiful and warm matte finish. Finish will not water-spot.
