Log-to-table: Quartersawn White Oak Dining Table

This was a special table to make since it was the very first log-to-table I ever commissioned. Hovever, due to COVID-19 and other life circumstances with both myself and the client we never actually began building this piece until almost 2 years later! Needless to say it was long anticipated, and definitely celebrated once it was finally delivered.  

This design was chosen by the client and is easily the most architecturally inspired piece on my website. While it reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright homes, it was mainly modeled after a Chad Womack table. At 9’ x 5’ this table is much larger than the inspiration piece though. I was very excited to try my hand at the design/style, and I think it turned out lovely.

Almost all of the material in the table is quartersawn. It would have been 100%, but unfortunately I began to run out of our quartersawn material once I started making all of the spindles.

The table was set roomy for ten guests, but you could easily squeeze in 12 or more.

Each piece is finished with a protective oil and hardwax blend for a beautiful and warm matte finish. Finish will not water-spot.
